Show Me The Way To Ancapistan

Dominic Frisby has released another libertarian music video, this time about his dream libertarian homeland in Show Me the Way to Ancapistan. The closest thing to a libertarian homeland at the moment is, of course, New Hampshire, but no reason not to dream. … [Read more...]

Alistair Williams Anti-Establishment Comedy Act

I discovered this wonderful 20-minute anti-establishment comedy act by Alistair Williams. He covers everything from COVID mask mandates to toilets on state-sponsored trains. Hilarious! He's on our list of best libertarian comedians. … [Read more...]

Merdan Ghappar: Uighur Prisoner Sends SOS

Merdan Ghappar

Merdan Ghappar, a prisoner in one of China's notorious Orwellian "reeducation" camps was inadvertently given access to his cell phone. He quickly sent out this short video showing himself alone in a small cell, handcuffed to a bed, while propaganda broadcasts drone on in the background. He says nothing in the recording, likely so as to go undetected by guards. It's an … [Read more...]

Remy: Raise The Debt Ceiling Rap

debt ceiling

Thanks to wildly out-of-control spending, Congress has had to raise the debt limit eighty times since 1960 -- yes, sometimes more than once a year. It's about to happen again, though there is the usual faux battle to go through first, in which the Republicans momentarily hold the line and then cave (though I have to say they seem to be putting up more resistance this time). For … [Read more...]

Censorship Run Amok: Covid and Twitter

amok

In this short commentary, Censorship Run Amok, John Stossel shows not just how mainstream media was itself the source of disinformation it claimed to battle against, but that now that the cat is out of the bag they're just pretending that nothing happened. … [Read more...]

Never Forget: Cops Busted A Surfer Under Covid Rules

surfer

On this day, April 2nd, 2020, Malibu police arrested a man for paddle-boarding alone on the ocean because he was violating COVID social distancing rules. Again, this surfer was alone on the ocean. You could hardly say he wasn't social distancing. But California Governor Gavin Newsom had issued a strict stay-at-home order, so the surfer was handcuffed and perp walked along the … [Read more...]

Covid Response Pitch Meeting: Harrison Hill Smith

covid response

This hilarious skit by Comedian Harrison Hill Smith reimagines the government's initial Covid response pitch meeting among experts. If you're wondering how authorities could have made their response so haphazard and contradictory, this is one scenario. h/t Instapundit … [Read more...]

Quantitative Easing Explained

quantitative easing

The economist who coined the term "quantitative easing," Richard Werner, now says central banks are too powerful and irresponsible and that they're the ones actually causing inflation. Of course, some of us already knew that, but it's nice to see the professionals finally concur. This hilarious explanation of quantitative easing by two straight-talking cartoon-characters … [Read more...]

James O’Keefe: Lucky Charms Is Offensive

lucky charms

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Here's the very first James O'Keefe video, in which a young O'Keefe persuaded a university administrator to ban Lucky Charms as "offensive to Irish." He went on to create Project Veritas, and later O'Keefe Media Group, both of which produce undercover videos on corruption and left-wing political bias. … [Read more...]

Stanford Prison Experiment: Original Footage

stanford prison

"Power corrupts" is an ancient theme, but it is sometimes forgotten that the maxim applies not just to powerful politicians but is also writ small in a thousand other situations. For anyone with power, the potential is there. In what has come to be called the Stanford Prison Experiment, researchers at Stanford University put this to the test by running an experiment in 1971 in … [Read more...]

Things Are Weird. Is It Time To Watch Wild Palms?

For years, the most outrageous conspiracy theory that had any popularity was the claim that a corrupt cabal of pedophiles and pervs were somehow calling the shots behind the scenes, protected by governments. This was considered tin-hat stuff. Then the world learned that there actually was a pedophile island … Continue Reading

About Miss Liberty

This site is a collection of films and documentaries of particular interest to libertarians (and those interested in libertarianism). It began as a book, Miss Liberty’s Guide to Film: Movies for the Libertarian Millennium, where many of the recommended films were first reviewed. The current collection has grown to now more than double the number in that original list, and it’s growing still.
