Freedom of speech is under siege on college campuses, and the threat to First Amendment rights is spreading — as revealed in this provocative documentary. [ No Safe Spaces credits: Dir: Justin Folk/ Adam Carolla, Dennis Prager, Jordan B. Peterson/ 100 min/ Documentary/ Freedom of Speech/ 2019]

External Reviews

“Should [free speech] be banned? A lot of us — most of us — would say no. So why are our campuses, which are supposed to be about the free exchange of ideas, saying yes? No Safe Spaces is a smart, vital, urgent, and provocative exploration of that question.”
–Variety

“”If the Left does not want ‘common sense’ to become an exclusively conservative epithet, it ought to heed the lessons of this rangy tour of today’s free-speech wars.”
–National Review

“If we cannot return to respect one another or engage in civil public debate, then we’re lost, and we will ultimately become the same monsters we accuse the other side of being. The documentary may make you angry at times (or throughout), but that’s actually a good thing. We can talk about that too.”

“No Safe Spaces just crossed the mark to $1 million in sales, making it the #1 political documentary of the year. A week after expanding to just 200 screens in more than 30 markets, the free speech docudrama No Safe Spaces crossed the million-dollar mark. Starring podcast king Adam Carolla and radio talk show host Dennis Prager, No Safe Spaces took in an additional $107k this weekend bringing its total box office take to just over $1 million. That box office success came despite a widely reported incident in which fans in California were subjected to two masked men who ran into a theater carrying duffel bags, prompting some fans to flee the theater.”
–Hollywood Glee

“Police officers in La Habra, California responded to a call on Friday when Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager’s free speech film, No Safe Spaces, was allegedly interrupted by two masked men who some customers felt were looking to intimidate moviegoers…’After all of the previews and ads were over and the movie was just starting, two thugs sporting hoodies, masks, sunglasses and carrying huge duffel bags ran, not walked, up the aisle and sat at the back of the theater right behind us. They looked like bank robbers, home invasion criminals… they were trying to act scary,’ a moviegoer named Vanessa, who asked for her last name not be used, told Fox News.”

About Miss Liberty

This site is a collection of films and documentaries of particular interest to libertarians (and those interested in libertarianism). It began as a book, Miss Liberty’s Guide to Film: Movies for the Libertarian Millennium, where many of the recommended films were first reviewed. The current collection has grown to now more than double the number in that original list, and it’s growing still.
