Libertarian Filmmaker Deadlines Approaching

Special opportunities for libertarian filmmakers are offered by The Moving Picture Institute and Anthem Film Festival, but these often have specific deadlines for participation. Current filmmaker deadlines include:

March 1st, 2023: Internship: Hollywood Career Launch Program
“This highly-competitive internship program equips freedom-minded filmmakers with the experience, knowledge, support, and network they need to succeed in the film industry. Our summer interns are placed in paid positions on the sets of MPI Original Films and at major production houses, such as BRON Studios (Joker, The Way Back), Millennium Entertainment (The Expendables, Olympus Has Fallen), and Bold Films (Drive, Vox Lux). To enhance their internships, participants attend talent development seminars hosted by MPI featuring instruction from industry experts. MPI also sponsors the Gold Rising program, which provides additional mentorship to MPI interns from members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. This program gives all MPI interns access to Academy programming such as networking opportunities with industry professionals and educational workshops.”

April 6th, 2023: Anthem Film Festival FINAL Film Submission
“We’re looking for the year’s best films about personal and civil liberty. We seek movies and documentaries about self-reliance, innovation, entrepreneurship, individual rights, and the triumph of persuasion over force. Libertarian films often point out the unintended consequences of government intervention, but they’re just as likely to be about a protagonist’s personal struggle for self-expression or self-reliance.”

Emergent Order is Hiring Video Editors
Emergent Order produces short films that inspire love of freedom. “Through heroic storytelling that embodies classical virtues and moves our audience to purposeful action, our mission at Emergent Order Foundation is to build a bottom-up movement that celebrates American freedom and the potential it unlocks in each of us.” They are hiring right now for three positions: project manager, designer, and video editior. You can see more about their mission here.

About Miss Liberty

This site is a collection of films and documentaries of particular interest to libertarians (and those interested in libertarianism). It began as a book, Miss Liberty’s Guide to Film: Movies for the Libertarian Millennium, where many of the recommended films were first reviewed. The current collection has grown to now more than double the number in that original list, and it’s growing still.
