Ayn Rand’s powerful novel The Fountainhead, about a brilliant and original architect, was made into a film in 1949 by famed director King Vidor. Film studies programs sometimes assign students the project of producing their idealized vision of opening credits for a film version of the novel. Eight such student films have been identified. Here’s my favorite of the bunch.

This site is a collection of films and documentaries of particular interest to libertarians (and those interested in libertarianism). It began as a book, Miss Liberty’s Guide to Film: Movies for the Libertarian Millennium, where many of the recommended films were first reviewed. The current collection has grown to now more than double the number in that original list, and it’s growing still.
